Broom House was featured in the Good Hotels Guide 2011, and won a 2010 Traveller’s Choice Award. It features real log fires and a peaceful garden, and offers free Wi-Fi and free public parking.
Whites Restaurant is a fully licensed bistro, with seasonal menus made from fresh local ingredients. Fresh fruit, vegetables and herbs are grown in the garden, and fish is delivered from Whitby. Afternoon tea is served on guests’ arrival.
The award-winning rooms at Broom House have flat-screen TVs and DVD players for guests to use. Spa cosmetics, fluffy bathrobes and towels are provided in the large en suite bathrooms.
Guests can go walking and bird watching in the picturesque North York Moors National Park, and explore the nearby coastal villages. Egton Rail Station is a 15-minute walk away, and Whitby is a 15-minute journey by car.

At Broom House, you be treated to homemade jam; fresh fruits grown in the garden; fresh Whitby smoked fish; and the traditional breakfast you would expect. The breakfast room is on the ground floor with an original Yorkshire range, and has a window overlooking the lower valley. There is also a lounge for sole use of guests, with an open fireplace, comfortable sofas and wonderful views.
Outside, there are a number of parking spaces, and you will also have your own patio overlooking the valley where you can sit and enjoy the breathtaking view. The one key element of the house is the quiet, natural surroundings. Salmon can even be seen swimming up the river in the Autumn. |

Broom House is situated in the village of Egton Bridge and is one of many pretty villages situated in the Esk Valley in heart of the North Yorkshire National Park. Although the guest house is ideally situated in the peace and quiet of the countryside, it is very close to the East Coast seaside resorts like Whitby Robin Hood's Bay. The North Yorkshire Moors Railway begins at the next village of Grosmont, where you can take a ride on a steam train to Pickering, Whitby and Glaisdale. Beautiful walks are possible from the doorstep, whilst fishing (by permit) is possible in the river Esk. York and Scarborough are also nearby. |

By Car:
- When you arrive in Egton, follow the road down the hill to Egton Bridge.
- Pass the railway station under a railway bridge, after this pass St Hedda's Catholic Church.
- Turn down Broom House lane on the right. Follow this road until you pass a house called Woodloes.
- Drive through a wooded area and you will then reach another overhead railway bridge.
- Broom House is directly on the right after the bridge. There is a sign outside and the house is well lit in the winter. |
